I am a socioecologist and interdisciplinary environmental scientist whose work examines how institutions shape both socioecological systems and knowledge systems.

My doctoral research at the University of Helsinki focuses on pastoral governance and ecological outcomes in Mediterranean mountain rangelands, with a particular focus on the Lebanese highlands.

My work combines field ecology, remote sensing, and social science to study how governance systems influence vegetation dynamics, biodiversity outcomes, and land-use change.

Before specializing in socioecology, my interests spanned several disciplines including biology, environmental science, and the study of knowledge systems. These interests continue to inform my interdisciplinary approach to research.

In addition to ecological research, I collaborate on projects examining how institutions shape the production and transmission of knowledge in areas such as education, media, and public discourse.
